THE DENTAL COUNCIL ACT 1999
Notice is hereby given to all duly registered dental surgeons and dental specialists that the election of seven (7) members of the Dental Council of Mauritius (comprising two (2) members from the public service and five (5) members from the private sector) will be conducted by the Office of the Electoral Commissioner on the seventh (07th) day of December 2024; and that the Returning Officer will receive the nomination of candidates for the said election on Saturday the sixteen (16th) day of November, 2024, next ensuing, between the hours of 9 am and 12 noon at the seat of the Dental Council of Mauritius, Office 8, First Floor Nouvelle Usine, Mangalkhan, Floreal.
Forms of nomination paper may be obtained either from the Registrar, at the seat of the Dental Council of Mauritius at the abovementioned address or from the Health Director, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Creve Coeur, Rodrigues, between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm on normal working days (excluding Saturdays).
Every nomination paper must be signed by five (5) fully registered dental surgeons or dental specialists and be delivered to the Returning Officer between the said hours of 9 am and 12 noon on 16th November 2024.
Every nomination paper shall specify the name, address and date of registration of the dental surgeons or dental specialists and also contain a declaration to the effect that: –
- on nomination day he/she is a duly registered dental surgeon or dental specialist and is not otherwise suspended;
- on nomination day he/she reckons at least 10 years’ experience as dental surgeon or dental specialist in the Republic of Mauritius; and
- he/she is a citizen of the Republic of Mauritius.
Nomination Papers received by post, fax, email or otherwise will not be considered.
